The superior shear stability over a large range of temperatures in combination with its very good compatibility with polymers and rubbers makes it the first choice for lubrication of seals and gaskets, as an insulating film in electrical components and a lubricant in severe environments. May also be used as a release agent in applications where elevated temperatures occur. Will not corrode aluminium or white metal alloys.
